Dadaab refugee webiste|avoice from voiceless-read lestest news

Dadaab Kenya hosts the largest refugee camp in the world with almost half a million people. Dadaab refugee camp was originally set up in 1991 to hold 90,000 refugees but today it has almost half a million refugees and the number is growing daily over 1,500 new comers. The growing number of refugees and their situation deeply concerns the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and other agencies operating in the camp. These agencies are struggling to meet the basic needs of the refugees for the past 20 years.
Life in the refugee camp is a very tough one with daily struggles and no self progress. There are few employment opportunities available to the refugees and unemployment is above 90%. Their travelling is restricted and the camp is isolated from the rest of the world. High schools facilities are limited and can only accommodate less than half of those finished middle school. These are no college opportunities available for the high school graduates
this website will allow refugees share their stories and conditions to the rest of the world and receive world class media contents and information to better their lives. It will be the primary media channel directly from the camp and at the sometime will serve as their online local newspaper. The goal is to empower, educate and link to the world through the use of online media
